The SOAP/AM Control Panel is the browser-based user interface for the SOAP/AM Server administrators and Web service developers. This guide describes the Server Management features of the Control Panel. Refer to the SOAP/AM Developer's Guide for information about the Control Panel Development Tools.

Accessing the Control Panel

Accessing the SOAP/AM control panel requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater or Netscape 6.2 or greater. You can access the control panel by navigating to the server’s address and port. For example, if the host name of your NonStop system is MySystem.MyDomain.com and you used the default TCP port (8080) at startup, you would find the control panel at the following address:

http://MySystem.MyDomain.com:8080

A sample of the SOAP/AM Server Control Panel is shown below:

Various areas of the Control Panel are secured for access by SOAP/AM Administrators or Developers (see About File System Folders for details). In such cases, you'll be prompted by your browser to enter a user name and password as shown below.

Information Icon The default administrator's name and password are "Administrator" and "password", respectively. We recommend that you change the Administrator password through the Control Panel's User Management page. See User Management for more information.

Control Panel Navigation

You navigate in the Control Panel by clicking one of the underlined hyperlinks on the page. These may appear as menu items or other commands. You can navigate "up" the menu tree by clicking one of the 'menu trail' items. You can also use your browser's "Back" button if you like.
